We left the European Union and entered Turkey, still not a member. If you traveled throw Romania and Bulgaria you can’t understand why. We where excited about driving in Turkey, but it wasn’t as horrible as our great travel bible the Lonely Planet predicted :-). Turkey was really great and the people where very friendly. At the Black Sea Cost it was like spring, but inlands it was snowing and at night about -17C. Driving along the Black Sea Cost was like a rollercoaster; trying not to get sick and not to bump into dogs, cows and old people on the road :-).

Rolina had this urge to paint, so we went to the Bulgarian Artist Union to see if they had maybe some kind of artist in residence possibility. They could offer us an apartment in some gray former Soviet building, where Rolina was also allowed to remove the furniture to create a small working space. For a week we lived, and Rolina worked, there among some other artist and cockroaches :-). I had no urge of working at all :-).
